A new congregation forming in Danville, Pennsylvania

What We Are Building

We seek to bring glory to the Triune God as we pursue:

the Mission of Christ

Followers of King Jesus are called to actively push back the darkness as we boldly proclaim the new life of His Kingdom, bring liberty to captives of sin, tread upon evil, and give hope to the weary. We make disciples by baptizing them and teaching them to obey everything God commands.

Renewal and Restoration

On this side of the cross, Christ is in the business of redeeming and restoring and renewing the whole world. All authority has been given to Him. He deploys us as His Kingdom people to restore lives, resist tyranny, bring justice, and renew everything broken, far as the curse is found.

Worship in Spirit and Truth

Each Sunday, our Lord's Day is marked by covenant renewal worship with our neighbors in an orderly yet joyful way. We serve God, and He serves us as we gather to feast on His word and at His table. Our services are for the whole family, and invite the participation of the people of the church.

Cultivating Beauty and Hospitality

We develop a culture of caring for one another as we raise and teach our children, extend welcome to our neighbors, and attend to each others' physical and spiritual needs. We encourage one other with biblical wisdom and enjoy the blessings of each others' gifts in the household of God.

Our Plan to Meet

We are in the earliest stages of formation as a congregation, so please “pardon our dust.”

We have the unique blessing of having a house of worship ready to meet in later this year, the historic Faith Chapel on Center Road in rural Rush Township, between Danville and Sunbury in Northumberland County. It is a small but lovely country church building.

But a church is not a building – a local church is a gathering of called-out, redeemed people, not an structure of bricks and beams. A congregation is simply a small contingent of the one universal Church, the Body of Christ.

During the summer of 2026, we will be holding several public evening gatherings in the community for singing praise and preaching the Gospel.

We plan to gather whoever God may bring with an interest in the mission and vision of Christ the King Church for a weekly fellowship group.

When we are ready with a small group of families and individuals, we plan to begin utilizing the Faith Chapel building for weekly Sunday Lord’s Day services.

“So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.”  I Corinthians 3:7

Churches aren’t built merely through human effort. May Christ receive all the glory due His name in this work of renewal!
